Update
Finally got away from working on my new RV building to attend a Texas Boomers RV rally. I was really amazed at how quite the coach was while driving.I suspect that I have had this problem from day one.

Resurrecting the necro post...

Found the same issues on my W24 with the 8.1L Vortec.

My fan shroud looks to now be an elliptical. The vertical flanged section seems to have ovaled out.

Anyone found a fix for this other than replacement?

I made spacers to fit between upper and lower halves. Also modified side pieces of shroud assembly to be riveted to upper and lower halves: See photos at this link.

Thanks, I got lucky. Was able to tighten the horizontal joint while pressing inward on it.

Then trimmed the high material where it was rubbing and now its good to go.

I added a couple more bolts to the bottom attachment to the cross member. I believe there was a TSB on this, and you should have at least one bolt into the center bottom metal frame through the shroud. I can dig up photos if you need them. This keeps the interference from occurring.

My W24 has the lower center bolt installed, thanks for the offer though.

As vettenuts mentioned, pull lower shroud down to create more clearance away from fan blades, then while holding in place, secure with a couple a shelf tapping screws.
This was a fairly common problem.
