Filling gas

hi all
having trouble filling with gas.

pump keeps shutting off......just started having tyhis problem

Look up from below where the fill pipe is located. There should be a smaller "hose" that is the vent line. If it has dropped or sag down, it is likely blocked with gasoline and just needs to be elevated and secured.

yep been there, in fact i had a post about this awhile back. replaced the rubber hose and braced it up end of problem. beware if you take the hose off you may get a face full of gas. don't ask how i know. a friend told me .lol

I know yours is Chev but Ford had issues on some F350's and 450's for awhile. They replaced the fill hose assembly on a few of our field trucks. Until Ford figured out a fix the guys would carry a 2x4 that they would drive the rear wheel up on and it would fill fine most times. I know it's a pain but might work for you until you get the problem solved.

Also, check the vent line to see if some creature built a home in there. Around here the dirt/mud dauber wasps like to build in small spaces like that.
