If a chassis manufacturer choose the 6.2, they should get a variant w/o cylinder deactivation. The only time it could come into play would be going downhill, and the ECM will cut fuel to 0 then anyway. Point being, this engine would have enough power for a fair sized class A chassis, will probably be manufactured for a long time, and would probably get better milage than the 8.1, even without cylinder deactivation.
