Fuel Filter Kit WHG481FK installation question
I recently purchased the Fuel Filter Kit WHG481FK from Amazon for my W20 chassis. I have never replaced the original fuel filter, so I don't entirely know what to expect. Specifically, I'm wondering if I need to replace any of the o-rings. The kit came with one o-ring installed on the adaptor, but I'm not sure if there are o-rings that need to be installed on the other two fittings on the adaptor. Also, there are no o-rings supplied for the fuel filter. Are they already on the existing motorhome fuel lines? If so, I'd like to replace them. Any one know the specifics for those o-rings so I can buy them in advance? I'd like to be prepared for any o-ring surprises!
Thank-you. RT

That is all you need. The kit should have come with instructions-just follow them. A rag to catch the SLIGHT amount of fuel that MAY come out when you first loosen the old filter will be helpful.
If you damage the o-ring or need to buy a new one it MUST be made of Viton.

Thank you for the reply. While I may not need them, I'd rather be prepared... do you know the specifics for replacement o-rings? If I bring the motorhome home and do the work in my driveway, I can't get caught-out with it stuck in my driveway, undriveable, for the evening. (35' motorhome, 32' driveway.) -RT

Ed -
I bought one of these kits too. How tight do you tighten the adapter to the filter? There is an o-ring present. I'm thinking hand tight plus just a slight amount. I don't want to damage the o-ring.

You will be fine! It only takes about 15 min to change, very easy. loosen the clamps that hold the lines to the frame at the filter also
and it makes it very easy to remove and install

I think Oemy posted in a different thread that it is a #8 Viton o-ring.

Correction: The info about the #8 Viton o-ring was posted by Jon Brazel from ultrarvproducts.com, not Dale (Oemy) as I posted, so you can rely on that info as being correct. Oemy had offered to provide one for free if needed.
You
Only need one on the male end of the adapter.
