Fuel gauge

my fuel gauge on 2005 Winnebago workhorse does not go down. Once I put gas in the needle stays there. Any suggestions?
Tks

I believe there is a mechanical "float" attached to a rheostat on the in-tank fuel pump. I'm guessing it is either stuck in the fully up position, or the rheostat is faulty. Getting to it is a PITA, and expensive. I would just ignore the gage and reply on one of the two "trip" settings included in your dash cluster. I always reset "trip 1" at each fill-up and start looking for gas after 300 miles so I don't run the level too low and risk over-heating the pump. IMO, the gage was never very accurate anyway.

My gas gauge does not move for up to about 125 miles after I top it off.
After that, on the level, it does start to move pretty quickly, at about 15 gallons per quarter tank.
For the past 95k miles it seems to be pretty consistent except in mountain country.

My gauge acts and operates very much like Martys. If the tank is full, I would set the trip odometer, and drive it. See if the fuel gauge begins to move after 120 to 130 miles have been driven. I don't depend too much on the fuel gauge, and usually fill up somewhere around the half full mark.

Mine did same thing except it threw a J1850 code. I disconnected battery, and it registered correctly. I haven't had it back out since (month ago) to check it.
