You may find it plugged in same fuse panel as your signal flasher or taped up on wiring under dash in its own plug.

ROGER: are you saying the hazard flasher and the signal flasher are two distinct devices? I just assumed there was only ONE flasher, and that depending on which switch was activated, the circuitery flashed either the left pair, the right pair, or all four lights. ED

Turn on the hazard flasher and look under dash near steering column or inside firewall listen for and look for where sound comes from.

My Commander (Triple E) has 2 flashers. One for the turn signals (put in a louder one there) and one for the 4 way flashers. They were both at the end of wires under the dash on the left side of the driver's seat.
Hope that helps.

Our new Windsport has two separate flashers also. Found out when letting off the parking brake shook loose the Hazard flasher and it dropped into my foot...

Yes there are 2 flashers, 1 for the signals and 1 for the 4 way flashers. If your 4 ways don't work, I doubt it is the flasher. I say this from experience. I have had 2 switches replaced because mine didn't work. The switch, even though it is at the top of the column, is part of the turn signal/cruise control lever. They call it a multi function switch.

Was the replacement of that "multi-function switch" a DIY job, or did it require a WCC dealer?

Also get the instructions on how to do it. There are special instructions to follow so you don't mess up the horn like Beaudry did to mine.

I did a turn signal switch in a parking lot in Omaha back about 1970. A wire on the harness had shorted out and burned the TS switch contact. When I went to the Lincoln dealer he said they wouldn't be able to get to it until the next day. I asked if they had one and if I could put it on in the parking lot. He said I would need a steering wheel puller. For some reason I had put one in the tool box before leaving home. Wife & kids went shopping and I spent 2 hours in 95 degree. temp changing the switch. That was a good job in the heat.
