I understand Workhorse sells a complete chassis manual for about $175.00. Does anyone have one of these? Is it worth the expense? Does it cover the engine? (mine is the 8.1 gas). It's difficult trying to do your own work, or at least what can be done without special equipment, without a reference. Thanks.

They don't offer a printed service manual anymore but they do have the Service Manual/s on CD. You can get it at Workhorse Parts. It's worth the price if you do any work at all on your moho.

Bob,

Sorry to disagree with you again. But, the CD is not worth $175 as it is nothing more than a few PDF documents on the CD. Some of the docs are barely readable. The parts manual is a bit difficult to follow. It's a typical overpriced product for WCC.

Feel free to take a look at my copy. I keep it there so I can quickly refer to it while on the road.

Hey Dale, hate to disagree with you but I also have the service manual on CD and it's got all the information you will ever need, I think it has over 8,000 pages of info. I keep a copy of it on my Laptop when traveling in case of problems..

Jack,

Pretty steep for some PDF files and no search program or any program interface. Good reference materials but not worth $175 in CD form, maybe in bound hard copy.

Steve,
I ordered the Workhorse shop manual on CD from Workhorse for $99 back in September. It's easer to navagate the CD now than it used to be...I'm told. The CD seems to have everything you ever wanted to know about a Workhorse chassis.
That said, for me, it's still tough to justify $99 for a CD.

Well,
I got the full shop Manuals. It is well worth the $99 or $175. If you have to pay an hour or two just so mechanic can change a fuse that you could have changed yourself it is worth it. You can also trouble shoot a problem and if you have to take it to a mechanic, you tell if the mechanic is pulling your chain or crank.

O' yes, the first thing you should do if something does not work is check the fuses.

The wise's fuse panel will actually display a RED LED adjacent to the fuse position if a fuse has blown so there will be no mistaking if a fuse has blown or not.

This takes all the guess work out of the diagnostic procedure.

WISE will be standard on all R-Series and UFO chassis. Hopefully the technology will make its way over to the front engine gas models in (later)08 or 09.

Dale, I purchased my Service Manual on CD back on 5/04, the cost was only $47.66. No a bad price then but $ 175 is a little steep now.

Steve, did you receive my PM regarding the Service Manual coverage, etc.

Someone wouldn't be making copies of "copyrighted"
materials and giving them away would they??????

Personally, I could care less but W/H might if they happen to hear about it by accident of course.
