Michelin VS Toyo Tires

I have a 2003 35.5ft Dolphin Lx with tires that date to mid 2002. One or two have show sign of cracking. Replacement cost for 6 current Michelin 235/80R 22.5 xrv tires is $2431.50. I am told by local dealer that I can replace with Toyo tires 245/75R 22.5 for $1703.50. This inclued balancing all 6 tires. Dealer claims that Toyo tires match up well with the Mitchelin's and both are 14ply. Has any body had experience with the Toyo tire. Motorhome is heavy and do not want any unnessary risk

I'd vote for Toyo tires. And especially at that price difference.
Plenty of the 'big' trucks use Toyo tires so they can handle the weight.

When ours need replacing....I'm going back with the Michelin XRV's.

When I replaced my tires last spring, I went with Michelin XRVs.

Michelin USA is supporting the Fall Workhorse Club Rally this October in Myrtle Beach and the Workhorse / Michelin rep will be here to give a seminar all about our RV tires.

Dicktater, do not know your location,if you are a Costco member or know someone that is they have 235/80R 22.5 XRV tires for just over $1500.00 for 6. You would have to take them to your serv. center or a truck shop for mount and balance.

Michelin's warranty runs with the DOT date code on the sidewall and possibly a receipt as to when you aired up the new sneaks. You can buy a set of tires that have been sitting around for a few weeks before they get installed on the MH and I'm not positive how that all works out but you can call Michelin USA in "South Carolina" and find all of that out.

Straight from Michelin's mouth.....For a Michelin warranty claim you have to go to a Michelin Truck Tire dealer. Michelin Truck Tire dealers are listed on Michelin's website. There are lots of them.

I had a claim and they needed no receipt. They go by the date of manufacture.

Tom I am pretty sure the XRVs that came original equipment on my 2004 are warrented form the time of motorhome purchase, not the date of production.

I don't have the answer, but moving up in size may not allow for the proper spacing between the duals.

I noted a set of car tires at COSTCO with a born on date of 1008, that's what I call FRESH!.

Michelin tire warranty is off the date code on the tire,as was posted in this thread.
