Multi Function Switch

Just ordered one of these from Ebay. At $26.25 I decided it’s time. My flashers haven’t worked for a couple of years now. This will be the third or forth (I lost track) one. I know.. I need the relay kit. Going to do the job myself, someday.

I've got the service manual for the relay switch when you need it.

Thanks. I've always been here - just standing off a bit. During rally planning season, I get pretty preoccupied however I can be contacted in almost a dozen ways. I have no excuse to miss a person trying to contact me.

Mine has always been the hazard flasher that failed. It is due to the load with the toad hooked up. Even though I don’t use my hazard flashers much.
Like I said, I am on my third or forth.

Yes, they will keep going out until you do the relays. I did a write up a while ago called 'multifunction switch --again' that might be helpful.

Yes, your write up was in response to my instructions I posted for you on request. Your write up was very helpful because you actually did the work whereas I just reprinted info from the service manual.

The service manual was extremely helpful but not 100% accurate. It did give me the confidence to take on the job and make adjustments as I went through the task.

The relays made all the difference for me as I have had no issues since then. Changing over to LEDs to lessen the load might be enough. My box trailer was my biggest problem since it has 4 additional signal lights.

Well I dove into it today. The service manual along with the extra inserts from bruceh guided me through. I did manage to remove the ignition cylinder. I needed to get the upper cover off because I broke the posts the screws go into and had to JB Weld them back in place. I started this job late in the day so it is not finished yet. I got the old stuff out and will let the JB Weld cure over night. While apart I cleaned all the dirt and dust out and will lube a few points before reassembly. Won’t be able to put it all back together until Thursday. I hope I remember how everything goes back together.
I compared the old and new parts and am amazed at how similar they are. At $25, the new one has to be a Chinese knockoff but it is physically identical to the old one. For that matter the original one was probably made in China. We will see how the fit and function is once I put it all back together.
