When my 235 size Michelins aged out 4 years ago, I replaced them with a different size Firestone. No regrets!

Below is the posting I made at that time. All the best.

Price Continentals, they are made in USA and FMCA has a discount program. I put them on my Beaver 6 years ago for about $3k. No issues.

I just bought 245x75x22.5 Yokohama tires from Simpletire.com and had my local wingfoot dealer install them with beads. Installed I had real close to $2400.00 in 6 tires. They are just a bit shorter but they will only cause the speedo to be off only a couple tenths at 65 mph, close enough for me. They also have a better weight rating than the Michelins. I just got back from a 1000 mile run, and am very happy with them.

As you can see you will get lots of answers on which tires are the best replacement for your coach. The Michelin XRV is about the only tire that comes in 235-80/22.5. As mentioned above the 245-75/22.5 is almost the same size. Depending on the manufacturer, it's a fraction of an inch shorter and the roll out is very close to the stock Michelin XRV.

When I bought the Adventurer new tires were part of the purchase price. I did quite a bit of research here on the forum and talked to a few local tire dealers here in Alaska. The Toyo M154's in 245-75/22.5 rose to the top of my preferred list. The dealer i was purchasing the coach through allowed me to pick the tire I wanted, within reason. I suggested the M-154's and the dealer found them locally for just under $250 each. the dealer and seller were very pleased to be able to put 6 brand new tires on the coach for under $1800.

I drove the coach about 600 miles before I swapped to new Alcoa wheels. The Toyo's performed flawlessly during that time. When I swapped to the Alcoas i had all 6 tires and wheels dynamically balanced with ceramic beads. I drove another 500 miles on them and again, the M-154's performed flawlessly. Definitely met all expectations and then some.

I have been a Michelin buyer for a long time and multiple sets. Better tire worth the premium price. However, I think many competitors have closed the quality gap. Earlier this year I considered as replacement for my existing Michelin tires - Toyo, Yokahama, Bridgestone, Hankook, and Firestone tires. Ended with a set of six Firestone FS 590 tires. Now several months and 8000 mile later, very satisfied.

For reference. Here is a link that shows the actual size difference between 235-80/22.5's and 245-75/22.5's. realize every manufacturer will be slightly different but the chart is a good reference point.

When the time comes for me I will replace with 245/75 Sumitomo ST 718. I used Sumitomo on my semi for a lot of years and miles with excellent results.
