We just got back from having new Koni shocks installed on the front of our Workhorse W22. We had Bilsteins prior to this installation. We drove it about 35 miles to the campground. The ride is very much improved in the front. Small bumps and tar strips in the road are no longer felt in the coach or in the steering wheel. It does seem to wander around in the lane a little more than it did, sort of the same feeling you get after a front end alignment. Easily controlled with little effort but it does seem to be there. Maybe the new shocks did have a small effect on the alignment that will disappear with time. You can still feel large pot holes but they are not as severe as before. For bumps in between large and small you can feel them in the steering wheel a little but the coach now runs over them with very little jarring and bounce. Before these bumps would result in a lot of feel in the steering wheel and teeth rattling feedback in the coach. Even though the Koni shocks are pricey I feel they are worth every penny. I will drive on these for awhile and then decide if I want to put a set on the back. Trips across the country should be much more pleasant and relaxing now. We are happy campers again.

Enjoy your new shocks. I am sure that they will give you a continued great ride as you travel our highways. The rears will only compliment the fronts and make the ride even better.

Hi DriVer,
Can you tell what shocks my motorhome came with?
I have a P32022 Model 2003 Model year Workhorse Chassi. I looked at my chassi book as well as my Winnebago manuel and of course my sales sheet.
Thanks for the help
BobD

BobD: if you look at your SHOCKS you will have your answer. If they are all black, they are original equipment. If they are all yellow, they are most likely Monroe RV Gas Magnums, if they are Blue top /yellow bottom they are Bilstein, and if they are GOLD they are Koni. Hope this helps. ED

Ed,
Thank you for the information. I checked my shocks and they are all black therefore they are orginial equipment.
Looks like I need to get the Billistiens or Konis ASAP.

Yes, that is probably a good idea. We have been reading nothing but good reports from the Koni installs, but they are pricey. Good luck with your upgrade, and you're welcome. ED
