Question OBDII Intermittent Connection

I have a 2007 W24 Chassis with the GM L18 8.1L vortec.

When I connect to the ECM with numerous different types of ELM127 OBDII adapters, it will work fine for 5-10 minutes then loose connection to the ECM and I will not be able to reconnect until the power is cycled and the issue repeats.

My google fu hasn't been very good at turning up other users with this issue. Has anyone else experienced this?

Pretty sure the PO had Scan garage connected to it 24/7. There also appears to be 2x OBDII ports under the dashboard. I just connected to the mounted one under the steering column.

I thought they only came with one OBD port. My scan gauge stays hooked up 24/7.

Second OBD II connector wouldn't be factory , follow the wiring to see if it's tapped into the one mounted under the dash .

Here is a photo of the second port, I'll try it once I've got the battery back in. Strange problem though.

Are you referring to the capped connector in the yellow circle ?

I'm not sure exactly what that connector is for but I doubt that it's a second OBD II connection.
Some one had posted under dash wiring diagram for a Workhorse chassis I'll see if I can track it down.

Does the top of your dash flip up to access the chassis fuse panel ?
If so that connector could be easier to access from the top.
Top picture is of a Workhorse chassis coach, with instrument panel lifted .

Thanks Skip - I agree, I am having doubts as well that its a second OBDII connector after looking closer at the photo.

My chassis fuses are on the firewall next to the left wall.

Ok , I'd thought given the dash pad finish ; seen , in the top of your photo that the dash top would lift and give a better view. The picture I posted was from a W-22 chassis coach.
