Unhappy Oil dip stick on 8.1L hard to put in to check oil

I have a 2008 UFO chassis, 8.1L engine. As of now, the only way I can check the oil is by :
1) Remove the clamp that holds the tube for the oil stick.
2) Remove Workhorse fluid level indicator part #W0008273 and disconnect at tube going into the engine.
3) Now, I can push the oil stick into the engine to check the oil.

I have to do this everytime I have to check the oil.

Does anyone that has had this problem, have a solution?

Yes it is a little hard to get in. Keep pushing and take out and rotate 180 degrees which sometimes helps. Also I feed it in with my left hand while my right holds the t handle end. Sometimes I use two hands on the dipstick cable near the tube entrance to push it past the hard point. Greg

Does your new tube and stick allow pulling and installing with very little resistance Bill?
I’ve always had to “two hand” mine to keep it from buckling when re-inserting.
Just curious if any adjustment to the tube could be made to ease this force or if it is just inherent with the long long tube and dipstick in use?
Thx

Paul, The dipstick tube is not adjustable to any great degree. It's held in place by 1 bolt and is largely unsupported.

I placed a poly foam block in the middle of the sticks (oil & tranny) and the oil fill tube and tie wrapped them together. They shake somewhat less but that's all I could think of doing.
