They don't recommend them.

Driver, I hope this experience was an anomoly, you don't want to end up with a "stub" left on the base. If this has happened to you before, you better check your install "style". a slight wipe of clean oil, and no tools ought to do it.."Back in the day", I've had to use a long punch, driven sideways thru the filter, to remove filters that were installed dry, and by someone who thought there was no such a thing as "too tight"..I use an old stainlesss "over center" band wrench that I have had for about 40 years. Filters used to have a nut "spot welded" to the base, and when the nut would come off your troubles began...rgr..

DriVer: Who did the oil change before this last one?

Should have made a Video on how not to change an oil filter.

Not to detract from the humor, but I also had a bad experience with the filter
wrench(s) slipping. My solution was to drill a hole in the filter wrench the size of a 16D nail. I then drove the nail in thru the hole and the wrench did not slip anymore. Gets a little messy though, but it worked s/Toby

Well, for at least the next year on my 2 year old rig I still change oil/filters the easy way.

Pull into authorized Workhorse Service Center

Present credit card.

My local service center charges me about the same as my local car service center charges, Only the car guy uses a better grade of synthetic.

LOL! Thanks for the entertainment! It was said before, but always lube the gasket with clean oil and only hand tighten. That's only about 3/4 of a turn after the gasket touches.

With all this experience in doing oil changes, why not open up a WORKHORSE JIFFY LUBE CENTER in Conway, S.C. We snowbirds could stop by and have some maintenace performed on our way to Florida...
