P30 front end

Does anybody know what the 2 little springs are that are mounted with a bracket over the lower ball joint? It has to be some kind of old aftermarket stabilizer system?
I have to remove them to get to the lower ball joint to install new coil springs. Should I bother putting them back on?

Like this? Had one on a Ford F53. Helped with tracking and wind push.

Very similar to that. Thanks. Mine doesn't look that hefty though. Seems too wimpy to be of any good?
