P32 Chassis Headers

Going to start digging into an exhaust leak on my 2001 Workhorse P32 chassis motorhome. 8.1 motor.
If I need to replace the exhaust manifolds, what is everyone using for headers?
I see Gibson makes a shorty header for the C3500 truck but will it fit in my chassis?
Other searchís have not resulted in much information.

Dorman does make stock manifolds but information as to exact fit is difficult to find. Seems the left side is easy to get but the right side is a different story.

And Iím in California so anything I use needs to be compliant. (No comment)

Any suggestions would be great.

On my 454 Mine didnít crack, they warped. The machinist that milled mine flat again enlarged all the bolt holes (except for the middle two). He lairs that 99% of the exhaust manifold cracking and warping on big block GMs can be blamed on the manifolds not being able to expand and contract around the exhaust port studs.

I didnít go with headers due to increased under hood exhaust noise and heat.

Check on line. Summit racing. Com... or jegs.com .. many header options with EPA. Certification.. good luck and keep us posted just make sure you scan and make copy of certification and keep with titles.. they can ask for it.. I would go for black or paint hi temp black.. so they will not notice them.. 99% just looking for cats..

Try and get the headers with the longest pipes possible. The longer the pipes, the more low end torque and hp.

my 99 vectra gt has the 7.4 454 with a banks power kit on it.it consists of a big ass air intake and long tube headers.but if i remember correctly the 8.1 has different exhaust ports and the headers will not interchange between 8.1 and 7.4

Guess I was lucky years ago when I found all I had was a leaking donut on the driver's side exhaust pipe inlet.

I am hoping for the best but planning for the worst. Thanks for your input.

The 454 is different than the 8.1 unfortunately.

A few choices but all of them say that they do not fit the 2001 P32 chassis with the 8.1 motor.
