Parking Brake Cable Adjustment?

Does anyone know how to adjust the parking brake cable on a manual (foot operated) parking brake? I have a 2005 W22 chassis that I recently bought, but the parking brake foot lever is so tight that I can barely set it to the 1st click without using all the force I can. Cable moves freely as I can easily move the brake drum lever, and it engages and releases the parking brake just fine. But it is way too tight, so I need to loosen the cable a bit.

I have checked the cable end at the rear of the transmission where it connects to the actuating lever behind the brake drum, but see no cable adjustment possible there (no adjustment nuts on cable bracket).

I have looked all around the under-dash foot pedal bracket, but can only see from the bottom side as the rest is covered by wires and under-dash components. Cannot even see the cable from that angle.

I have asked dealers, and even called WH in Detroit but no one seems to know how this cable can be adjusted (very simple on cars). I have downloaded all the service manuals for this I can find - but apparently not the huge master service manual (where do I find that?) And the info I downloaded says nothing about adjusting this cable - though they go to great extent to describe the Auto-Park system (which thank goodness I do not have).

Any ideas? Thanks.

On the foot brake it may be easier.

I just pull a pin, then back off the really useless lock nut, then turn the yoke that pulls the brake lever.. Re install pin, tighten lock nut (jamb nut) and job done.
