Question:
Has any one changed the rear fluid at 15,000 miles?

Ed/Full-Time: why would you want to do that?
Quoting from the WCC Chassis Guide:
""Beginning on July 10,2000, chassis vin # last eight digits Y3325061, synthetic gear lubricate became standard. The Dana 80/M80/S110/S130/S135 axles with synthetic gear lubricate has a service interval as high as 250,000 miles if not contaminated or driving in dusty, sandy, or wet conditions areas. If lubricate becomes contaminated change immediately or if driving in the listed conditions change lubricate every 25,000 miles or 6 months.""

There is more, including a discussion of the American axle requirements, but I'm guessing your W-22 has a Dana rear axle with the synthetic fluid. Of course your owner's manual would be the authority on the subject, and you can check your SPID label for exactly what you have to be sure. ED

Thanks for the feedback!

I was just looking through the WH Manual seeing it's almost spring, just to see what I needed to do since I just finished waxing and cleaning the outside of the coach. I read that if towing a trailer or dusty conditions replace fluid at 15,000 miles. I do tow a Toad, so I was under the impression it needed to be changed. Now, I'll just keep my butt in the easy chair for a few more weeks and enjoy the down time before heading out to see America!

Ed/Full-Time: I want to emphasize the extended interval only applies to rear axles equipped with the SAE 75W-90 GL-5 SYNTHETIC fluid. This fluid has been used by WCC since 7-10-2000, so most of us are covered.
It is still a good idea to check the fluid level periodically, and add more IF needed. I bought a quart of the recommended grade fluid by Mobil 1 at a local parts store, and have used it in the front wheel bearing hubs, but none has been needed in the rear axle yet. ED

I had mine checked early after purchase and it was LOW. Came that way from the factory about 2000 miles. Dealer never checked altho it was on their check list.

Not quite 1/2 low. No damage. I notified WH for future problems.

Ed,
I checked it before and the level was where it should be. Back to the easy chair!
