Recommended differential fluid replacement cycle?

I have a 2002 Dutch Star on a W22 chassis. It is low mileage and I cannot seem to locate a recommended (based in months/years) fluid replacement recommendation in the owner's manual. I know I should replace the transmission fluid every four years (Allison Operator's Manual) but what about the differential fluid?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I don't see a replacement time/mileage in the Chassis Guide. It says to check the level when you change oil and lube the chassis. You can download the guide HERE Maybe you can find something I missed.

You can also download the service manual and other info HERE

I haven't seen a schedule either. I believe they have synthetic fluid though. Mine doesn't have a drain so changing mine would not be a fun job although I do have a peristaltic pump that could do the job.

Welcome to iRV2.com and the Workhorse forum in particular.

I drove my 2003 W-22 for 98,600 miles and never change the diff. fluid. I have heard WCC Director of Service say: "the ONLY time it needs to be changed is when it becomes contaminated with dirt or water". Otherwise, IMO, don't fix what isn't broke.

OBTW, the NSD also repeatedly said that "occasionally" we should "drive it like you stole it" and I have done that regularly to both a W-22 and a W-24 with absolutely no ill effects other than the lower MPG.

Thanks all for your help and Clay - thanks for the links.

I have a Dana S150 rear axle and according to the Service Manual (Page 36) provided by Clay, the synthetic oil should be replaced every 3 years or 250,000 miles.
