I did note that it was a 2007 unit, and realize it was manufactured in CA. One possible explanation for the mileage would be if it originally went to a dealer back east, where it sat unsold and was then sold at auction by the dealer in CA. Does sound like there's more to the story however.

Probably is more to the story than we will never be able to trace. Anything is possible.

If I have this correct there is a 07 coach with 4000 miles that Workhorse and the coach manufacture has no record of being sold. The same coach appears to have plates front and rear which would indicate to me that it has been license and registered in a State which would mean there is a previous owner. The fact that neither Workhorse or the manufacture has not been notified the coach was sold makes no difference it would be a used vehicle. If an attempt is made to claim a warranty and it has a previous owner it would be fraud. (In my opinion)
I would be more concerned with running the vin number with the State in question than Workhorse.

The prospective buyer sent me pictures along with some questions. In the pictures the plates are clearly dealer.
The Vin was checked, no previous registration.
Checked with Workhorse and full warranty will be provided from date of sale.

I agree, Workhorse is a US company, all plants in the US, Thus the first digit of a Workhorse vin is a FIVE (Valid US first digits are 1,4 and 5 far as I know) he letter C in the first slot would indicate Overseas.. In case you think Canada.. That's 2 (Taco-mobiles start with 3. Made in Mexico)

And before you argue.. I have 25 years as a police dispatcher.. That's part of the job.

To let everyone that has followed this thread know, it has been fun finding out all I could about this coach. Jon Brazel gave me the information I needed to start the research.
The friend that was interested in it knew I had one and started asking questions. He just retired and wanted to move from a class C to an A.
Vince and Liz are starting their retirement adventures and I wish them the best.

If it has an "Allison 5-speed", it's not a 2007 chassis. It would be older than a 2006 model chassis.

It would still be registered per the manufacturers Certificate of Origin that it's a 2007 model no matter what chassis year it is. That's per Federal Law.

It's all settled. 2006 chassis, 2007 coach. The chassis was purchased from Fleetwood by CT Coachworks. Everything is good.
