registration

A friend is looking at a coach that the dealer claims is a new 2007 model.
The VIN is 1153,cwa1191.415988. I do not know if this is the Workhorse VIN. Any help in finding out if it has been previously registered with Workhorse would be appreciated.

That is not the VIN...

Needs to start out like this "5B4MP........"

Get me last 8 digits and I can scan and e-mail you all the information on that chassis.

Thanks,

Jon

Thats the one. But Workhorse says the coach is a Fleetwood.

If the one being looked at is the one pictured, it has license plates fore and aft. Unless they are dealers plates I would say it has been registered.

The research I have done revealed it has never been registered with Workhorse or CT Coachworks.
I have a feeling that there is a wrong number in the VIN.

CT Coachworks bought left over chassis from Fleetwood and Rexhall many moons ago. When we visited the CT assembly line I noted that current year houses were being mated to two year old chassis.

I'm a little lost here (not unusual). If this coach is registered and licensed by a State is it not a used vehicle? I cannot see what difference it would make if it is registered with Workhorse or the coach manufacture. Sounds to me like a dealer is not telling the whole truth and I would be headed in the other direction.

Gee, a salesman not telling the complete truth...that would be a first. Ad doesn't say anything about it being brand new, just "like new". If it were new you should be able to ask for and see a manufacturer's statement of origin. If they don't have it then it has been titled and registered.

It was not a question of telling the truth, it was a question of finding out how it was obtained by CT Coachworks. After some research it was found to be a new chassis having been purchased from Fleetwood and has never been registered to an individual. So is in essence it is a new/used, never sold unit.
I do have the Workhorse statement of origin and everything checked out. It can not be sold as new with 4000 miles but (per Workhorse) the warranty starts the date of purchase.

If you have the statement of orgin, then it has never been registered and I don't see why it can't be sold as a new unit, regardless of the mileage. My coach had 2400 miles on it when delivered because of the distance from the factory to my dealer, and was sold as new with all applicable warranties starting at that mileage.

Guess it could be sold as new, but having originated from a builder in California, being sold by a dealer in California, it would be difficult to justify 4000 miles.
Read all the posts and you will see it is a 2007 model.
