I will have to say that Fleetwood isn't the only Mfg with unresolved problems, all chassis an coach Mfg's have them, the year "04" seems to me is having a very bad year. Another point I would like to make, is why some of us do not have the problems. Some of us when a problem is posted state, I do not have your problem, but try to help out that person. What I am trying to get at, do we do something different about how we inspect our MH's to insure ourselves, that we are not going to have the same problems that all these other people are having.
The only real problem I have had with my 03-W-22, requiring a tow, was when smoke came out of the steering column from burnt wire insulation. The ignition wiring harness shorted to gnd at the top of steering post. I like to adjust my wheel up an down for comfort. Everyones porpoise problem an now the cat.recall.
The next list of problems I have not had.
Problems that Rvers have been posting on irv2 recently, have not been addressed by Workhorse or coach Mfg's or dealers for the resolve of their problems. To address a few, can't release gear shift out of park, or key from ignition, the dealer looking at the person explaining the problem like he has three heads, an no answer for his problem, the confusion as how to get the IP's corrected, is there a software program fix or not, dealers say they can, WH. now say they can't, after tech center said on Dec.06-04 there would be a fix out to dealers within the month. Is WH. as confused now as we are?
The fix by Newmar an Fleetwood of a cap over the air-intake tube,to stop the water intake down air-tube, that people have had placed, say doesn't work for them, an one that has said he thinks it is effecting his gas mileage, these are just a few I'am sure there are others.
Why is it that Mfg's can not be straight with the "Motor Home Public," when we see improvements in their products every year, so they must listen to the MHP, but can not address lingering problems in the past year. People are getting flustered out here and would like some simple answers. Alfa-see-ya monitors their Forum an posts the fact. Does any other Mfg have the will, to do the same, that Alfa has?---"007"

Please excuse this post, I don't know how it happened but I think it's in the wrong place.
I wrote about Fleetwood's new Vacation type lease program and which types of MHs that they were using for the program.
See the Industry News Forum.

Driver,
I respectfully disagree. I believe 007's post is saying what some of us (perhaps many of us) are thinking. Also, what release are you refering to?

He was refering to the new Vacation Club that Fleetwood is starting this 05 in the RV News posts. I used that release to start this topic in order to get everyones attention. I kind of bashed Fleetwood, where I should be bashing every Mfg. for not following up on problems that are still lingering for the pass year. The 04 yr people seem to be having a real problem yr, thats why I started this topic.
Maybe some Mfg's will pay attention to RV's problems. The ALFA-SEE-YA Mfg. does monitor their Forum. THANKS for your comments.-----"007"

"007" does have a few valid points. Most of us on this site chose to purchase a Workhorse chassis. We felt at the time, and I still feel this way, that Workhorse was a better chassis. Many of us have previously owned both GM and Ford RV's, and therefore knew what to look for in an RV chassis. Having said that, I agree that we're not really getting good factory information on some of the known problem areas. In particular, since many of us have experenced problems with both shocks and faulty IP's, why aren't we hearing something directly from a factory rep? I really appreciate what "DriVer" does for us however, with problems as serious as the shock and IP issues we deserve complete answers.
Shocks: Poll those of us who spoke directly to Workhorse about shocks and you find a large disscrepancy in how the situation was handled. I could not get Workhores to replace any of my shocks though I provided full weight info, and was in spec. Others had front shocks replaced with Monroe shocks, while others had all four replaced with Monroe shocks. Some even got Bilstein's. ( I gave up fighting with WH and purchased my own Bilsteins).
IP's: I have heard nothing from the factory on this. We know the instrument Panels have a very high failure rate, and yes Workhorse was good about replacing mine, yet we don't know if the problem has been correct and reliable panels were installed or if the "new" IP's will also fail. Huge numbers of the IP's are failing (based on RV web sites). Will Workhorse warranty these after our "normal" warranty runs out?????
I really think that if Workhorse cared about its customers they would be providing feedback, either via direct mail, or via this web site, as to the status of these and other issues. Most of us are reasonable people however; if Workhorse continues to burry their heads in the sand and pretend these aren't major issues many of us will look elsewhere for our next RV chassis.

Joe, your point on the IP is quite valid, since the NHTS Recall info has the IP listed since April 2004, without resolution or customer notification from Workhorse. The NHTS refers inquires back to Workhorse. NHTSA campaign ID number 04V195000

boy if all of this isn't the truth. i have called w/h 3 times already about my i/p and have had three different answers. from changing it to sending it back to the factory for reprogramming and having the m/h sit at a dealer for 6 weeks, to a lap top fix, which onre tech told me he had no idea what i was talking about. on the way out here (vegas) our engine light came on in a rain storm and lost power. called w/h and they had me stop at a dealer in okl. city. problem was water was getting into the intake tube and tripped the sensor. dealer told me w/h blames fleetwood and feetwood blames w/h. so who got stuck with the bill. ME, neither would pay so if i wanted it fixed i had to pay for it. and still no one will own up to the problem. i have quit a few other issues with flletwood that i am still trying to settle and they just don't seem to care about them or how there dealers are treating there customers. not looking for anything special from these dealers, just fix the problems for what you are getting a 100.00 a hour for. no one wants to do anything these days but all want the big bucks. really ashame.

joelyn, you are sure having your problems. If you would look in the Newmar Owners Forum you will find under Topic "workhorse power downs rain water" a fix for your rain problem. This fix works for your WH also its cheap to do an will help with part of your problems. As to shocks have them put on yourself it will save a lot of aggravation, Blistines are what WH uses now. Still out on the IP problems working on it.---"007"
