Hope the photos are attached. First time I've added photos.

I have seen several posts showing "Cold Air Intake" designs and thought I would show you mine.

My design differs only by mounting the filter/air-box vertically. My National RV-Dolphin has sufficient room forward of the radiator to add a 90' sweep fitting to the uasual 4" tubing.

The photos show 1: The mount I welded off the frame to support the 4" tubing. 2: The filter with the bracket I made to support the air-box. 3: The final assembly.

The air-box is somewhat cosmetic as there are 7 2" holes in the box to allow air to flow to the filter. Still; the box does make the assembly look somewhat professional.

Components

4" tubing from Home Depot racing section (painted Workhorse black)
2 4" 45' fittings
1 90' fitting
1 4" to 4" rubber coupling

S&B RO862 filter (I have seen many reference the RO832 filter however, the 832 has a 3.5" ID whereas the 862 has a 4"ID)

After reinstalling the ECM (Reprogrammed by Mike/Jeff) a 40 mile road trip shows the air intake noise to be slightly greater than the stock filter, but only when heavy on the go-pedal. I'll be heading for CO. next week, than on to FL. I'll report on the air-intake, power, and fuel millage after this trip.

I was concerned I would mess up posting the photos. The Photo with the grease fitting will be posted on another topic (adding a grease fitting to the brake assembly on a Dolphin).

The missing photo just shows a bracket I welded on the frame to support the 4" pipe and has no real value.

Thanks, guys for the help.

Joe

I'm guessing ball valve for the (horrible) hot water return for the air conditioner that Workhorse uses....

As you surmise the red ball valve is a shut-off for the line to the heater. I don't think I had a problem with the stock valve however, adding the manual valve is easy and I now know it will be all the way off during AC weather.

We'll head out for a 5000 mile drive Sunday. I'm really looking forward to see how well the Ultra-Power ECM changes and the new C.A.I. work.
