Question "Surprised" Workhorse Service Center

I called my Service Center this morning to inquire about an appointment for the caliper recall - the service manager said they had no word about it and thought I must be mistaken that it has been issued a number and our My Workhorse page on the web showed the recall as open. He promised to call Workhorse and get back to me. It is now well after business hours and no return call. Not a promising start.........

If your service center doesn't know anything about the brake issue after all this time, I'm guessing they don't work on many motorhomes on Workhorse chassis. It may be time to look for a new service center.

When I was at Redlands Truck earlier this summer, they said the were getting dozens of calls a day asking if they knew when the new calipers were coming in, and they had a list of hundreds of people wanting a call back when they heard anything.

That the service manager would not know about it is not surprising... Last to know and all that.

I have often posted about the fuel clip recall.

Service consultant said it would take them over 2 weeks to get the part.. I had the part in less than six hours.

I was told that the Chevy P30 Chassis is now owned by Workhorse?

If I'm right, then who do I go to for Recall Notices or for a list of Recall's that the PO may not have gotten taken care of?

Thanks Everyone!

p.s. its a 1993 Cobra Cordoba 32' Chevy chassis with a 454

Thanks!

IMO, Workhorse will NOT have any records pertaining to a CHEVY chassis of that vintage. WCC bought the chassis business from GM in 1999, and continued making the P-32 chassis until 2005, I think.

I'm no lawyer, but since the company that built your chassis has gone bankrupt and no longer exists, I'm guessing there won't be any recalls in the future, and any that may be open will only be found via extensive searching of website archives.

Phoned my service center(Cummins Crosspoint) Evansville,Ind. today and asked about the brake recall and the night service mgr said they didn't have any calipers and knew nothing about them and "wasn't happy that they were put in the middle of this whole thing". Could be just him. Was told to call back and talk to the Workhorse warranty administrater there. Hope he is a little more excited to do the work than the Mike Schmidt night service manager...he also told me my name wasn't on their list as prior customers usually are) they had about 30 names on their list.
Will call tomorrow and let everyone know what the WH warranty Admin. has to say...

Stubje, I called Kenny Kent Chevrolet in Evansville, a Workhorse service center, and they acted like they didn't know what I was talking about.

Just goes to show you that even though IRV2 has over 50,000 members who have had this subject thrust into their face and daily lives for years now. There are still many WH owners and now it appears some "Dealers" that are totally ignorant of the same.
While on the road over the winter earlier this year I made it a point to bring the subject up to any WH owner I came across at several campgrounds. I was shocked at how many did not have a clue of what was going on.

Lightbulb WH

Even my friendly RV Service Centre in Cloverdale, BC knows about it.
He is a WH Centre too. Has to do about 200 I was told. So he is busy and it's a good thing my Newmar runs and runs. But Oilchanges have to be done on time... Somehow he will fit it in?! Good shop.
