Our '98 P12 is basically a W20, and it
had what the old Guys around the campfire
called "spring slap". The Workhorse folks
installed plastic/delron/teflon pads at the
ends of the spring leafs to quiet them. Well,
that works but sometimes the pads don't stay
put. They come out. What I did was filled a
Walmart pump oil can w/flex spout with
Dextron ATF and ran the HWH levelers down
to off-load the springs and spread them a bit.
Then I squirted the ATF in those spots where
the spring ends had been rubbed shiney. I also
had a squeeky noise that I thought might be
coming from the poly bushings in the Davis
Tru Track front bar, so I douched them, too.
The rear sway bar bushes got F-21 tire
shine on them as well as the shock bushings.
Took all of about 15 minutes...
The result? She's stone quiet
