Tire size and rating help

Question on a flair 25y

Currently she’s sitting on 225/70/19.5 load rating G tires.

The data tag next to the driver door says 8r 19.5 tires but no load rating is specified.

I found a really good deal on some 8r 19.5 tires at a local shop, but they’re load rating F.

So any insight on whether these would be good tires?

I had 8r19.5's on our Airstream 34 footer. Went from Michelin to Double Coin. They worked great and were rated higher than the Michelin rating.

There should be a max load spec on the tires and if they are rated over your loading, go for it.

You don't tell us anything about your RV other than it is a Flair 25Y and the original tires were 8R19.5.

From that little bit of information I am going to assume that the motorhome is a 1980's to early 1990's Chevy P32 chassis.

I had a 1988 32' Bounder. It's original equipment tires were 8R19.5 load range D. The Bounder empty weight was about 13,500 lbs. I suspect your 25' Flair weighs somewhat less. 8R19.5 load range F tires are rated to carry 13200 lbs on the dually rear axle and 7000 lbs on the front axle.

That is more than enough for your motorhome! If they are a good buy and have a recent Date, buy 'em.
