Trailer brake controller

So for my next project I'm wanting to add a trailer brake controller. I noticed that there is a blue wire at the trailer plug in the back, but looking under the dash, I can't seem to find any blue wires to connect a controller to. Has anyone else wired in a controller and how did you do it? 2004 Dolphin LX 6342.

If you have the Ford F53 chassis the trailer connector is normally tie wrapped to a wire bundle up high on the right side of the steering column, not easy to find. Mine was covered with a plastic bag and had a label with the wire identification on it. I bought the plug-n-play pigtail for the controller.

I installed one on our previous MH, and want to put one on the new-to-us 2005 but, like you, can't find the blue wire. This is either so obvious that no one wants or needs to comment, or we need to run a completely new wire, or are just waiting for a response

My 2000 P-32 the PO had run a wire back already. It seemed it came with a 6 wire plug but it had been changed before I got it. I would look under the hood on the right hand side facing the front and see if there is a bunch of that blue wire tied to something there. Is yours in a bundle with the oem wires or is it a separate wire.

Itís in the factory harness bundle back at the trailer plug.

I bought tried and returned the Curt for four reasons. 1) would not pair to either of my phones (neither, location enabled, as required per Curt), 2)road hazard exposure as it hangs down too low from the angled tow vehicle plug, PLUS the trailer cord, 4) it is secured solely by friction and a thin Velcro strap, 4a) trailer mount (link above) is secure plus, protected from road debris, 4b) USA made, 4c) obvious high quality built, 4c) plug and go with any vehicle with 7 pin connector, 4d) I experienced support (2 cell numbers) from knowledgeable, patient guys, darn near 24/7; also reported in their feedback.

The degree of braking and any required emergency braking/sway control can be user-altered by a key-fob-sized remote. Most never need to change the former, once the excellent unit is easily calibrated and fine tuned.

Yes, it's more expensive but IMO, WELL worth the cost.

I'm confused by your post. Are you saying the Curt is good, not good? Are you recommending a different unit?
