We have a 2006 6 speed Allison, behind a Workhorse. The older Allisons needed a filter at 5000 miles. I read that the 6 speed, with Transynd, does not need a change til 25000 miles. Does this sound right , or do you still change at 5000 miles???????????
Thanks, the Muffin Man.

I believe you are right about 25000 miles. However, if it were I the filter would be changed after 500 miles if the unit is new. No matter how good a product is there will be some initial break-in ware. Yes the filter should pick this all up. So why leave it in there? Have a good day

I have an '06 Alison with the 6 speed also, and my owners manual says to change your filter at 5,000 miles....

Driver will be along to set you straight

Your rookie transmission requires a transmission filter change at 5,000 miles so git'r'done!
