Transmission warning light?

we have a 2004 Adventurer 33V with the W22? chassis, chevy engine and allison transmission.

Last weekend, when I started it up, the yellow exclamation point on the left side of the speedometer stayed on. Then when I started it up two times later, it went off.

Well, today it happened again. No light the last three days, but today, upon starting it, that light stayed on again.

I looked in the W22 chassis manual and the Adventurer Owner's manual and didn't find anything.

The light is not flashing, just an amber exclamation point that stays on.

THe rig seems to drive and shift fine.

I believe the light has to do with the transmission but I don't know what it is supposed to mean. Low fluid? I don't think it means it's getting too hot since I just started it up.

Thanks.

I am not sure which light that is as it could be the parking brake or transmission light. They are in close proximity to each other. However, I have attached the ACTIA GAUGE CLUSTER manual for your review.

here is a photo of the warning light. based on that Actia cluster manual, it does look like the transmission light. so what, exactly does it mean? the workhorse manual was not helpful or informative. All it says is "Indicates problem with Allison Transmission. Vehicle should be taken to dealer promptly."

I do have a scan guage 2 installed. Is it able to tell me what this warning light indicates?

Thanks

I don't have a Scan Gauge on my rig. If it checks for open codes, then i recommend you have them checked and report back. However, I recommend you first check the transmission fluid level. Also check the battery terminals and grounds for corrosion and looseness.

Well, I added about a quart of fluid... light didn't go off until the third on/off cycle, but it's off for now. It does shift better! Hopefully that's all it was.
