Transtar

I just bought a 1985 Chevy transtar. Seems so far to be in reasonable shape but Iíve only driven it about half mile. Itís got a nasty fuel leak coming from the top of the tank so will be a few weeks before I get it here for further evaluation and I have no manuals for it at all. So if anyone has access to anything for this it will be appreciated. Iíll post what pics I have soon.

WELCOME to iRV2.com and the Chevy/Workhorse sub-forum

Since I never heard of a "Chevy Transtar", here is what google led me to:

"Designed as an innovative, intermediate step between Class B and Class C motorhome flexibility, the TranStar line was created by Champion Home Builders. Based on Dodge and Chevrolet vans, the 19.5-foot to 29-foot line-up of TranStar motorhomes offered high interior ceilings, sleeping capacity for up to six occupants along with impressive fuel economy. The TranStar name was replaced after the 1986 model year and was replaced with Telstar."

You may find other owners HERE: https://www.irv2.com/forums/f65/ .
Good luck with yours !

When you said Chevy TransStar it caught my attention because the International trucks back then were called Transtar. Perhaps that is why the next year the name was changed to Telstar.
