Question Trip computer

The LCD on my trip computer is not diplaying some caracters compleate.
I have read some posts on others who have had this problem but have not heard what the fix is. Can the LCD display be replaced or could this be a grounding problem. has anyone found a fix for this.
Dick

Dick
Grounds can cause a host of problems but it's more likely to be an internal issue since it's a partial display of characters.
I had a similar problem and in my case the instrument panel had to be replaced.

I removed and replaced it myself There are screws on the back side that have to be removed as well as the ones on the front. My dash tips up which made the job pretty easy.

THANKS Clay, But replacining the whole intrament cluster just to get a new LCD display seams like replacinig the engin because you have a bad spark plug. We have to be Talking BIG BUCKS for the instrament panel

DICK: please consider stopping by your favorite Workhorse ASC and ask them to take a look at your IP's LCD "pixel failure" issue. Then ask them to please contact the Workhorse RSM that handles these issues for them. You might be able to get the IP replaced at little or no cost to you. It shouldn't cost you anything but a little time to find out what your options are. The ONLY fix for this problem is replacing the entire IP "cluster", as others have already stated. ED

Dick, The cluster is only held in by 4 fasteners (typically) and it's connected via 2 modular plugs. In most cases changing the IP cluster takes less than an hour and your outta there. The only complication is recording your mileage and having that spun up on the new IP. That doesn't take too much time however it may take a few days if that and then Actia ships you (the dealer) the new cluster.

Just check with your service center as Ed suggested to see what your options are.
