Have been having trouble with CC cutting off while traveling. I use CC most all the time and it was getting aggravating.

I also found out the same switch feeds to electric steps, which wouldn't close at times, and foot brake booster pump.

I checked the play on the switch and the plunger had plenty of exposed play left for switch to operate. Its pretty hard to see the plunger but feeling the tip of plunger and the upper metal brake arm, WHICH FELT LIKE A FILE RUFF EDGE, that rides on the plunger had worn the plunger so it had a beveled edge thus causing the plunger to not operate the switch at times.

Because the plunger had plenty of play to operate the switch I placed on the metal arm a piece of sticky industrial velcro. It was enough to operate the switch so all switchable items work as they should.

I must tell you if you do this fix be very careful because when you push the brake pedel it could grab your finger and you have to really push that foot brake down to release your finger.

When the weather gets warmer I'm going to place a piece of sticky rubber with thickness about 3/16 to stick to brake arm in that way the plastic plunger will not wear and save the rest of plunger. My switch is mounted on a very solid piece of metal that does not loosen up, the switch must have some type of key lock on back side near brake arm to release from mounting.

If your out of warranty as I'm you will save yourself some money, if your in warranty you will save wear on the plunger.

A follow up to my brake switch problem after placing the rubber strip on brake arm it was not enough to keep the cruise operating when traveling down the road. So I got on my back again and found out the the brake switch has threads that screw thru the mounting plate for switch. You have to remove two plugs on switch, the locking tabs are facing to the rear on both plugs, in order to turn the switch clock wise to gain more pressure on plunger to operate switch for CC, electric steps to retrack and boost pump for brake with brake in idle position.
I turned the switch about 4-5 turns to get the CC to operate on the trip home today.
It worked fine unless I hit a bump in the road so I'll take it up a notch more so it will stay on over a bump.
I wonder how many dealers know this trick and charge the customer for a new switch.
