Last trip we lost the engine fan shroud, fan devoured it. Lucky no damage to radiator or fan and I was able to limp home without overheating. Bought new shroud and hardware but fan has to come off to install top half of shroud but I can`t figure out how to get engine fan off. Anyone who can help would make me one happy camper. Thanks Dick

From the WCC service manual:
1. Remove the air intake duct from the throttle body and MAF sensor.
2. Remove the engine oil fill tube from the oil pipe.
3. Disconnect the (TCM) transmission control module connectors.
4. Disconnect the (PCM) powertrain control module connectors.
5. Remove the PCM bracket retaining bolts and the bracket with the PCM and TCM attached.
6. Remove the upper radiator hose.
7. Remove the upper fan shroud.
8. Remove the fan blade and clutch assembly from the water pump using J41240 (fan clutch remover and installer).
9. Reverse steps for installation.

I would consult with your local auto parts store for the possible rental of a "J41240" tool or something real similar.

Thanks Abarkl, was able to borrow tool from local mechanic and replace the shroud before a very important weekend trip with grandkids. At 5&6 yrs old they would not understand PaPa disappointing them.Again I appreciate your prompt help and if I could ask one more favor. Where did you get service manual.

The full shop manual can be obtained from Workhorse. I believe it is around 90.00. I suggest getting the books as opposed to the CD as I like to look at print while I'm working on it.

I got lucky a few months back and obtained mine through an IRV2.com member who had sold their rig and no longer needed them.
I don't remember the price but you can buy them from workhorse.com parts or there's a Workhorse service center on eBay that has a store where they sell them also.
I'm glad you found the correct tool, and glad I could help.

If the document gets a little dirty, wet or greasy throw it away and print up a new copy. The CD also give you the capability to do searches for key words. Using a CD resource is much more efficient.

While I cannot contest what you say in the slightest - through personal use I find that all of a sudden I need to look at another page (yes they may get a bit soiled) it is easier to browse through right there than to go to the computer and do a search. Guess I'm not quite as computer literate as some.

However, it would save a bit of weight in the motor home. The whole set is heavy.

According to the Workhorse site they only have the CD for 2004 and newer. The paper version is only available for 2003 and older.

Is this your take also Driver? I was thinking I'd like to have the paper manual also, but you bring up a good point about the CD.

Today's count on authorized service centers is 843.

Speaking of paper, in a REAL BIND you could use it but not a CD to wipe.

There's a lightly used set for sale/auction on eBay right now for $15. Less than 2 days remaining.
