After washing my '04 Brave I found water droplets on the screen covering the air intake. That's pretty good evidence that water got into the air filter (no, I didn't pull it to check!).

Anyone having a problem with rainwater getting into the air breather while driving in a downpour?

My '04 has a screen at the opening of the air tube. It then drops vertically down and "U" up (like a sink drain pipe). At the bottom of the "U" is a drain hole. I don't believe it is possible to ingest water.

I can't get my hand down the tube far enough to check for a drain hole in the tube. I'll have to crawl under. But, you must have a different design that I....mine isn't "U" shaped...it's a 45 deg ell (approximately).

I guess it looks more like a squirrelly "J". On page PDF page 5404 (page 6-598) of the workhorse manual a picture is shown. From underneath you will see a drain.

Well, it's a 90-deg. bend, and there's no drain hole.

Wonder if it's advisable to drill a small hole? But then, leaves and other debris that gets sucked into the cleaner might plug the hole.

Looks like another maintenance item.

My 2004 Newmar Scottsdale with the W22 started to miss during a rain storm on a trip to Mexico. I knew what it was since I read about it on another forum. Workhorse sent "the fix" a plastic half pipe that moved the opening to the left a foot or so. It looked like a good idea but on a recent trip in the rain it started to miss again. So I guess we will have to try tweeking the placement of the pipe or see what else WH can come up with.

Found it! Thanks for the help! Looks like there's a hodge-podge of "fixes" available.

Some engineer probably got a big raise for this design!
