What GM Chassis does a W22 equal?

A friend has a 2005 W22 and is having issues with the instrument cluster.

What is the equivalent GM Chassis? i.e. Kodiak 5500 or Top Kick 5500?

Thanks in advance.

That is the famous Actia instrument cluster. I'm on my third one.

Typically the LCD readout will go bad and occasionally the entire set of gauges and lights will go off along with an alarm. After a couple seconds it goes back to normal.

What kind of problem is he seeing?

Brazel's / Ultra RV Products has a repair / replacement upgrade service for these dash units, I think one option includes a higher contrast brighter display screen

I think I misunderstood your question at the time I answered.

Based on the GVW ratings..the W22 would be an equal GVW rated chassis to the "5500"! And the W24, would also be an equivilent to the "55"!
The reason being that "GVW" is calculated by the "least rated" of three components: AXLE....SPRINGS....TIRES.

Example: front axle rated at 8,000#, front springs rated at 4500# each for a total of 9,000#, an tires rated at 4480# each for a total of 8960#. The AXLE at 8,000# is the least rated component, therefore a GVW plate on the chassis would show a front GVW of 8,000#.
The same formula would apply to the rear axle for rear GVW.
Also, frame strength of the frame rails, based on length would factor into the factory determination of the GVWR of the chassis!

Hope this helps!
