Question What is the highest mileage on a whcc mh?

I was wondering...what is the highest mileage on the Odometer of a Workhorse Custom Chassis Motorhome with a gas engine seen by one of our forum members?

My '07 Outlaw has a W24 (8.1L front engine/Allison 6 spd) and has only just over 23K...so it's just getting started. And, I runs great!

I don't know what other gas engines came in a WH...so please share

My 454cid has 42,000 miles is without any problems.
Plus I get a little over 9MPG.

I have an 8.1L in my 2002 Brave, it has just over 90,000 miles and runs as good as it did when new, actually runs better than it did when new due to the upgrades that have been done on it. Gets over 8mpg.

My 02 flair with an 8.1L P32 chassis had 98k when I sold it, and my 06 Hurricane 8.1L W20 chassis has 82k now. Only did plugs, wires and belt on both engines. I strongly feel that regular oil changes is one of the keys to engine longevity. I also use my transmission gear range to limit the RPMs to 4k max. It is alot easier with my Allison 1000 6 speed on my 06 than it was with my 480LE 4 speed on my 02.

When I sold it 2 years ago, my 2003 W-22 had 98,600 miles and was running great. The new owners recently told me they have over 110,000 miles now.

I have a 2001 Daybreak with an 8.1 L Vortech and I have 61,000 miles on it and I am planning to go northwest to OR-WA from Ohio later this month and expect it will be about 7000 more miles in 6.5 weeks.

Many thanks to the posters...looks like there could be a long fun run ahead of us (knock on wood). I'm a bit surprised theres a total lack of "mine blew-up in the first week" type replys.

I am 110% behind the "limit the RPM's to 4,000 max" rule and my Allison 6 Spd makes that very easy to do...but the "Grade Brake" would push it over 4K, if I let it.

Mr. Scott, Could you advise what interval you followed for the oil change (miles and/or months) and what type oil and filter brand you preferred (real experience is hard to beat).

I am showing 95,500 miles and I am expecting to crank in a couple more thousand before the end of the year.

Almost the record vs. Edgray's, but that rig was sold.
I PM'd before seeing this reply - many thanks.

I think the 2 biggest factors of keeping a motor running is driving style and oil changes. So, each of these high mile reports has me wondering...

Would anyone like to share any personal preferences for oil type, change interval, and other factors?
