What is the Lug Nut Size for my Workhorse?

I have two different tow services but still want to have tools on board to change tires if absolutely necessary. Have 12 ton jack, 3/4 inch breaker bar and 4' pipe. Also have my portable Milwaukee impact wrench. Now I just need to know what size the luge nuts are for my 19.5 inch wheels. Measured 1.31 inches so I my guess is 1 3/8" socket. Correct?
Don't have a way to torque but this will be for emergency situations only.
Feedback appreciated. Tim

B-in-Ls; 05 W-22, Workhorse on 22.5" wheels , the lug nuts were metric . 33mm. if memory serves . Don't know if your 04 would have US standard sizing but I'm thinking you need to check out sizing for a metric impact socket .

Take the RV to your local NAPA and point at it , they'll let you try before you
buy.

Or contact Ultra RV Products and ask about the size.

Lug Nuts not Budging

Well, got the 33mm socket. Put it on the Milwaukee with a 1/2" to 3/4" adapter.
Lug nut did not move. Have not seen a nut or bolt that impact would not twist.
Will try the breaker bar and pipe next. Guess the torque multiplier may be going in my emergency tool kit next.

They are supposed to be torqued to 475 pound feet. I suspect “most” commercial. Air guns make them even tighter. Good luck with a hammer drill.

Just took a fresh battery

Put a fully charged battery in the Milwaukee, picked a fresh lug nut and in 10 seconds it was loose. Now I guess I will buy spare charger and battery to keep in the MH. Thanks for all the input.

Mine is a Workhorse w22 chassis. lug nuts are 30mm outside diameter. I believe 1 3/16" is equivalent! One problem I have, lug nuts as tight as I can get them only half the nut is threaded onto the lug bolt!

Are you referring to the rear wheels especially with an aluminum outer wheel?

The actual steel lug nuts used on W series wheels require a 33 mm socket, torque spec is 475 pound feet.

As others have mentioned , this is not good , right at the moment I'd say we'll need to see pictures of what your seeing to try and help clear this up .

B-in-L's W-22 had Dicor stainless wheel simulators and the retainer for the covers that mounted to the wheel stud only went on to half thread depth , but there are only two of them , If all eight of your wheel lug nuts only go on to half thread there are major issues.

And as edgray mentioned 475 ftlbs torque , that's well past regular hand tools.
Did you have the wheels off, were the studs protruding through the lug nuts when you started ??

IF the chassis originally came with steel wheels and a PO switched to Alum wheels, they should have replaced the OE studs with longer studs as required by thicker Alum wheels. MAYBE that is the problem, assuming you have the wheels completely onto the hub's pilot ring. Either way, if your studs are not extended completely thru the lug nut, you need to install longer studs into the hubs.
