Windshield wiper control box

the wipers on 05 W22, will only work on high and park where they are turned off, took the control box out to replace. have not got the new box yet, but with the old box out it does the same thing. Could the high be a default setting to work when the box goes bad? Will have a new box in a few days, will see if that fixes it.

It may be a wet connector. look under hood at connection to wiper motor. Open connection and dry it out. Reconnect and seal with silicone or a rubber tape.

Has been in dry garage for3 months, cleaned and dried connectors last fall and did not help. should have new control box in a few days, just hope that fixes it. just thought the wipers would not work at all with box disconnected. But they still work on high without the box. Still going to seal the connectors if the new box fixes it. It was raining when it went out, and has not worked right since.

A couple of years ago after a rain storm, my wipers would not turn off until they finally dried. After they dried, I put silicone around the wiper contacts as they go into control box. I also put some automotive soft rubber trim around the motor opening hood at the top. This prevented the rain water from getting at the windshield motor area. No problems since.

Got the wiper control box from, ultra rv parts, changed them out, took about 30 min. All is well now, works on all settings. Now just need to get some new wipers. The wiper motor sets high under windshield. Going to get some thin rubber sheet to hang down past motor to keep water off motor and connectors. It was raining hard when it went bad, thinking the water might have shorted out control box. Will dielectric grease keep the water out of connector????
