Drove through three hours of rain today. Everything was fine at first and then on the intermittent setting the wipers started resting a few inches away from their normal resting position, and it only got worse as I continued driving. I thought maybe turning the wipers off and back on might reset them, but when I turned them to the off position they wouldn't shut off at all. I pulled over to read the Workhorse manual to see which fuse controlled the wipers so that I could pull the fuse if it stopped raining. To make a long story short, I found if the wipers are off for awhile they start working normally, and then after 15-20 minutes the only way to turn the wipers off is to pull the fuse or shut off the ignition. I'm guessing that there's a timer relay that controls the intermittent wipers that's malfunctioning once it heats up, but I can find no such relay listed in the Workhorse operator's manual. Anyone know where this might be on a W-22?

EDIT: Water in the connector? I see I'm not the first to have this problem.

Up on the driver side of the firewall near the brake master cylinder is the connector that goes to the wiper motor. I GUARANTEE there is moisture in it.

Thanks! Found it and wrapped it in plastic sandwich wrap. Of course, now the rain has stopped and since I'm headed home to Arizona it'll probably be next summer's monsoon season before I'll know if it worked.

Mine had a connector that was simply packed with dielectric grease to keep out water. I cut that off one wire at a time, soldered the joint and used self sealing heat shrink on each wire. That, along with the hood seal added for the ingestion issue, and I never had a problem with the wipers again.

Had the same problem. As mentioned before, the connector gets water in it. I put some dielectric grease in mine and taped it up with electrical tape. Haven’t been in much rain since, but hope that takes care of the problem.
