Mr Ed,
As you can see, my recall data has faded to unreadable. Can you fill in the blanks for me? Thanks.

The WCC database does not provide me with the dealer code or location, but it does show that all 3 of the recalls on that chassis were completed during a single service event on 2-25-2011 @ 8,042 miles. The "brake recall" # is 51101-C .

IF you want the "build sheet", send me an email: edgray1@gmail.com

That vin is a 2004 W-22 chassis. It had the usual 3 recalls and all were completed. There are no chassis recalls still open.

That vin # is for a 2005 model year W-20 (GVWR 20,700 pounds) chassis sold to Fleetwood in Riverside, CA. It had 2 recalls, the first to replace the CLIP on the pulse dampener, which was done 2/5/2007 @ 29,871 miles. The other recall, 51101-C, to replace all 4 Bosch brake calipers remains "open" = NOT DONE

IF you want the "build sheet" showing this, and info about how to go about getting the calipers replaced at no charge to you, send me an email.

Where to get recall work done

I asked about my coach in the brake caliper recall thread and was told that there appears to be an outstanding recall for the fuel rail damper retainer clip. I have a 2005 Newmar Mountain Aire, VIN 5B4MPA7G743388344 on a 2004 W24 chassis. Attempts to contact the local RV dealer that was the Workhorse dealer have fallen on deaf ears. Any suggestions for getting the work done in Idaho? (Will also be traveling to Eugene, Oregon in a few weeks, so that is also a possibility.)

Walt: you are correct about having the clip recall still open on your W-24. However, I would not stress too much about that, because if the clip hasn't failed by now, it probably won't-IMO.
The recall was issued because WCC discovered they had used a batch of retainer clips that were apparently over-hardened and made too brittle. The failure rate was very low, but did result in several engine bay fires-hence the recall.

IF you chose to change it anyway, almost any competent medium-duty truck shop should be able to replace it in less than 2 hours, assuming they can get the correct size clip from a parts house. You don't need a WCC ASC to get this done, but finding one should save you the cost of getting it done. Henderson's Line up in Grants Pass, OR may be able to help you, or suggest a shop that can.

Your 2004 model year W-22, with 19.5" wheels, had 3 recalls and all of them were completed.
The dash cluster was done 3/16/2006 @ 3,878 MILES. The dampener clip was replaced 10/30/09 @ 5,441 miles. The "big one", 51101-C to replace all 4 calipers was done 11/29/2011 @ 8,497 miles. There are no other chassis recalls for that vin #.
IF you want the "build sheet" send me an email so I can attach it to a reply.

That vin # had 3 recalls and ALL were completed. There are none open.
The dash cluster and the cats recall were both done during a single service event on 5/6/2005 @ 7,120 miles. The OE calipers were replaced by the brake recall, 51101-C, on 12/15/2010 @ 15,864 miles.
Please understand that WCC changed the service interval after the recall, and now recommend the DOT 3 brake fluid be replaced every 2 years, regardless of mileage. Unless you can determine when this was last done, it is time to do so.

Also, because the MACA was the finest gasser ever built, IMO, it is likely to also be the heaviest coach ever put on a W-22 chassis, depending on floor plan. I'm simply trying to say that you should get it axle weighed on a truck scale, so you can be mindful of how much "stuff" you can add without exceeding the 22,000 pound GVWR. Axle weights will also allow you to set the tire pressures correctly
for safety and ride comfort.
Congrats on your new ride, and safe travels.

Ed, thank you for the advice, my local mechanic is going to get the 4 calipers installed. Buddy was very helpful, as soon as he saw the recall was still open, he set everything up. I am glad Workhorse is standing behind this even though they have gone through these corporate changes. Thanks again.
