Does anyone know if the Chevy/Workhorse class C chassis gets a Workhorse VIN or not? I've looked for one on our new Coachmen and I cannot find it. An email to Workhorse got a response that seemed geared towards class A chassis owners even though I made it plain we have the class C.
The only reason I ask at this point is that I've been trying to complete our registration on the Workhorse web site. It wants my VIN number and I can't find one. It refuses to give me access to the engineering documents section and I can't tell if that is because there are none for the class C or if it is because I haven't supplied my VIN yet.
I have much the same problem at the Chevy site, I can't get certain information without my Chevy VIN and even though I have the Chevy VIN their system will not accept it! I've emailed Chevy about this and get no response, Workhorse at least tried to help.

Welcome to iRV2.com's Workhorse Chassis Forum. This is the very first time that I have heard about a registration issue with a GM/WCC Class C product.
Let me look into this a little bit further.
Thanks for joining us here and please do come back to visit and feel free to post often.

The VIN for the chassis is the same as the VIN for the coach.
You can get the VIN off your title if you can't located it on the motorhome.

I have no trouble finding the Coachmen VIN or the Chevy VIN. I see them in the expected places on the vehicle and in several different pieces of paperwork. If I type either of those VINs into the Workhorse registration page it accepts them without complaint but shows my VIN field as blank when the page refreshes. So I presume it is not accepting them. Workhorse VINs start with "5B", Chevy with "1G", and Coachmen with "1T".
Maybe these vehicles don't get Workhorse VINs and there is no information on them on the Workhorse site beyond what I have already seen. That would be fine really, I just want to know that so I can stop trying to get any further with the process.
I don't know what to do about Chevy. They tell me that yep, that's a valid VIN you've got there, sir, but we don't have it on our list. Sorry. GM is not impressing me. This is their first and unless they start responding, last opportunity to impress me and they are failing completely.
Workhorse is a much smaller company and I'll cut them some slack on this but GM has no excuse.

Sounds like the VIN comes from GM and then the chassis is sent to Workhorse. Workhorse's software must not be setup for these VINs.
I'm certain Driver will have the answer shortly.

Good News for you perhaps is that your GM/WCC Class C motorcoach is eligible for membership in the WCMC. It was a bit of a challenge early on but you are wanted!

Workhorse vins start with 5B4 and sometimes with 5T4.
The C-class is a cooperative effort by GM and Workhorse, but is built by and serviced by GM. They have a GM vin number.
