Workhorse dies when put in park. (3 times)
We spent a week at Lake Billy Chinook. Went to go hook up the boat trailer and put the Itasca Sunova 34A Workhorse into park and it died. Started it back up and hooked up the boat trailer. Pulled the boat out of the water and it died again when I hit the brake and put it in park. Started right up.
Drove 2 hours and stopped to get gas and put the brake on and put it in park and it died. Drove for another 1.5 hours and put it in park at home and it was still running.
?
Also I could smell the brakes after stopping about 1 hour into the trip home. I was using the Grade Brake feature so should I be concerned about the brakes?
Thanks,
Brandon

This may not be your answer but I had my keys on a ring with several others and sometimes when I would put it in park the shift lever would hit the ring of keys just enough to kill the engine. It had me puzzled for some time. Now I have MH keys on a ring by themselves and no more problems.

Ditto here,
I had same thing happen to me a few times. Coudn't figure what was going on then noticed keys were causing problem one day when I watched as I put in park.
Little things that confuse the mind !!
Hope this is your problem BCCSRC and nothing major.
Let us know.
Larry

When I first read the post, the first thig I thought of was the keys also. I thought I had a unique problem but I guess others do too. I now use the ignition key solo so I quit turning turning the engine off when I shifted to park or possibly any other gear.
Also if you have autopark, turning the key off slams the parking brake on.
As far as smelling the brakes, as if they were hot, I won't go there.

I am convinced it was my keys causing the problem. I do have a few keys on there and I could see how this would happen.
Thanks

I only use a light key load while they are in the ignition. All my other keys are on a secondary set of keys such as hitch lock keys, etc.
