Anyone out there have the skinney on this? Rumor has it that it might be a front/rear diesel. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
Brickemboy - Sounds interesting, I guess in today's world, anything is possible. May be a nice setup though, I could send the wife to the back of the coach while driving, she could sleep (I would say a gas engine in the rear would be a lot quieter than those diesels), plus I could get some relief from her!!! Neat idea, I would like to know more, I would be interested.

I would find a rear gas engine more intersteing than a front diesel. A rear engine is quieter to drive and the engine "hump" is in the rear rather than around the driving seats. Yes, rear engines, diesel or gas, usually have a raised floor at the very rear to accomodate the engine.

Many of us are wondering what the latest inovations are going to be from WCC. Many have heard all sorts of rumors, and speculation is rampant. As one of those who was there, I can only tell you that there are all sorts of interesting things in the developement pipeline at WCC. Which ones make the cut and actually get to market and which ones languish on a drafting table will be interesting indeed. Don't forget, the house builder's acceptance of a concept has a bearing on product introduction due to economy of scale issues. IF the coach builder customers who buy chassis from WCC don't think a concept will sell more motor homes, then any innovation we may have seen won't see the light of day. ED

Yes Ed I agree, but we know how the house builders hate being up staged Someone will have the Ba--s to try a new concept. Remember how history just loves to repeat itself.

I would vote for a FRED. My wife and I like the 37B floor plan with the desk option. I am a Ham radio operator, and my wife doesn't like to listen to the radio while she is trying to watch TV. None of the Winnebago rear engine diesels have a vanity or desk in them. I saw an Allegro Bus with a rear vanity with a diesel, but I don't want to leave Winnebago. With a FRED, all of the gas floor plans would be available with the advantages of a diesel.
Works for me.

Workhorse will continue to show the American buying public that a gas powered motorhome chassis is still the way to go. Heads up, the Workhorse has been tested by an indipendent firm and the results favor the gas powered Workhorse by a long shot. Stay tuned for exciting new product releases from Workhorse in 2007. FRED has had it's moment and now it's Workhorses's turn, "again!"

Come on MIKE, a FED wouldn't cost nearly as much as a REDP. That would be a clear advantage to the FED. Could there be a rear gas engine on the horizon? Everyone played with that idea some yrs back.

Someone posted the thought of a mid engine. Spartan chassis has a mid diesel. Specs show great wt distribution. Floor plan any ole way. If they can diesel should be able to gas.
Noticing major coach builders putting out new diesels at lowest prices I've ever seen. Choice of gas or diesel getting tougher.
