I saw a F53 that was built 02/06 this past weekend and I am pretty darn sure it had the larger steering wheel on it so might have been a late '06 addition and not solely for '07's.

That is correct, I own a 2007 Itasca Sunova 35J on a 2006 F-53 Chassis built 09/06 and I have the 17.5" Steering wheel and btw the pilot seat will spin around fully.

Just an update on the wheel. I've started a new position at work and have been very busy.

All we need is someone who wants the larger wheel to order one through Bill at teamfordparts.com and share with us here any details on ordered and installing it that come up.

Being a Blue Diamond part, most Ford dealers probably can't get it, and if they did, they'd want to charge the full $90 list price.

Anyone near Team Ford in Vegas that could work with Bill personally?
