1999 Pace Arrow Computer
Looking for a source to rebuild the main computer board in my rig?
Getting a lot of differing opinions on the matter.

1999 computer
Was not aware of the number of computers? We have been dealing with a main computer board?? In any event. The outfit that was tasked with rebuild, installed a board from their service truck.

Engine runs.
It doesn't shift properly?
The overdrive light blinks and cruise doesn't
work. The turbine speed sensor has been replaced.
This model it is located in the rear.
Computer test shows that code has not cleared. The cat was removed,
that code won't clear.
All of these components were working previously.
I am not a mechanic. I only no what has been told to me during this exercise?
Many differing opinions.
One suggests the computer be reflashed? Ford dealer states that will not work.
Seems the aftermarket world can't rebuild due to age?

The vehicle speed sensor is on the diff. There is no turbine speed sensor. Later F53's have them. What code is it setting?
As for a cat code, that makes no sense. 1999 V10 had no cat monitor.

You have a parts changer working on this, not someone that can do diagnostics.
Quite often the problem with the vehicle speed sensor is the wiring between the PCM (the computer) and the sensor. It is very rare for the PCM to be the problem. There is no code that says to replace the sensor, only a code that says the PCM isn't getting a signal from the sensor.
You need someone that can find and fix the wiring issue. Hint: A visual check will not find the problem 99.99% of the time. It takes an electrical diagnostician to do this.

My head is spinning.
Thanks for feedback.
I have a PCM coming.
The people tasked with repair installed a
board from one of their old service trucks!?!
It would never be correct.
Threrfore all the readings are bogus.
