2000 F53 radiator hose replacement

Hi Folks

I want to replace the coolant lines on my 2001 (2000 chassis) f53 and coolant etc. Is this a big job for the lower hose? Are all the connections easily accessible for a in the driveway job?
Thanks
Eric

I've not done mine so I couldn't tell you how difficult it may or may not be.
It seems from a bit of researching that the lower hose in other F53 also attach to the cab heater hoses and a few others.

I'd suggest you get under your rig and take a closer look.

Here is a link to someone else here that was considering replacing the hose on their F-53 a few years ago.
Take a look at the complete assembly of the whole hose.
Price varies between $80 and $120

Good luck

Its a fairly easy job. I just pulled mine off so I can remove the fan shroud. I'm not sure if I'll replace it.

The lower hose is special, it has the two small hoses that run to the oil cooler on the oil filter adapter.

Drain the radiator, you'll get about 4 gallons out of it.. When you take the lower hose off, you'll dump another 1/2 gallon

Did my hoses today. Ordered motor craft from Rock auto. Perfect fit. Took 2 hours. Get a spring clamp remover. Its needed to get in tight places. Remove air snorkel from top of engine. Makes top hose easy. Bring razor knife to split hose if hard to remove. Used small rachet with extensions to tighten hoses near oil filter. Make sure hoses clear engine pully on drivers side. Put claps on all end first. May have to flip then around so heads are easy to get at. Don't tighten them until all done. Top hose can only be teached from inside. Lay old towel across top if engine to avoid sharp edges while pulling hise ends off. Have 70000 mikes on rv. Hises didnt look that bad at all soooo thats that. Might have gone to 100000 before doing it.[emoji16] [emoji12]
