2001 vs 2000 wiring

I'm looking for a set of year 2000 Wiring Diagrams, but right now can only find 2001.

Anybody out there aware of any differences between the years?
Or does anyone have a set of 2000 ones they could pass on?

Thanks

David

An engine, and chassis info would help.

Ford V10 6.8 liter. As for the chassis I don't know what to say, except F53 year 2000. Guess it's the longer version as the RV is 37 feet.

Thanks

David

It may not matter but the VIN will identify the chassis year. It's probably a 1999 chassis. Are you needing chassis wiring or coach wiring??? If it's chassis wiring subford has a lot of F-53 wiring diagrams that he's shared on the forums. He will know if the 99 is much different from other year models also. Just do a search under his handle and send him a PM.

If you need coach wiring post on the Pace Arrow forums. I have a 2009 Ford CD and can get to all service information but for some reason my disc won't give me any of the wiring diagrams. That's what you get when you get something for free. You get what you pay for. In this case nothing.

I have 2000 chassis diagrams - its about 60 pages -

I subscribed to the ford technical service for a one time VIN number and downloaded everything I could.

I suspect they are very similar between the years

There were some differences from '99 to '00 (EGR, trans sensors) but I think '00 to '01 should be the same. Is there a particular system you are interested in now? Or just gathering stuff?

There are several Ford chassis manual CD's available on e bay that cover the 2000 and 2001 F53 chassis. They range from $9.99 (or best offer) to $39.99. Note that several of the CD's cover both years and there's only 1 set of wiring diagrams.

Ford 2001 Truck Service Manual CD F 150 Explorer Escape Ranger 3 0 | eBay

Ford 2000 01 Truck Service Manual CD F 150 Expedition Navigator 10 0 | eBay

I would only purchase a Ford Workshop Manual CD as opposed to others available from different publishers. Experience has shown that many of the aftermarket manuals miss a lot of critical information.

If you decide to purchase one make sure it includes information for the F53 chassis. There are several versions for dealers that only sell light trucks and those that sell the heavy duty line of trucks. the description should be similar to this:

2001: E-Series, Escape, Excursion, Expedition, Explorer, Explorer Sport/Sport-Trac, F-150, F-650/750, F-Super Duty, F53 Motorhome, Mountaineer, Navigator, Postal Explorer, Pre-Delivery, Ranger, Villager, Windstar

Thanks - I have one of the CDs that covers most Ford trucks, but the wiring for the F53 is not included :-(

Yes - I finally got that to work. What a pain. It shows most of the wires but I don't see them all e.g. the blue going from the brake controller connector in the dash to somewhere at the rear of the chassis.

The plug with the all the wires including the blue wire for the brake controller on mine was tie wrapped up high under the dash right side of the steering column. It had a plastic bag with a pigtail for connecting to the brake controller. As for finding the wire at the end of the chassis I never did find it in the wire bundles back there. I just ran a new wire from the controller to the 7 pin plug.

Thanks. I think I found the plug at the front. I'll look underneath if it ever stops raining here.

Connector 405 (C405) will be on the left frame rail, near the back of the fuel tank. Ford supplies the chassis with leads coming from two connectors there for the taillights and such. you'll find the brake controller blue wire there, connected to nothing. I had to run about 4' of new blue wire from there, to the trailer connector near the hitch.

Does anyone know the link to get to the ford site to download diagrams.

I did this a year ago. I seem to recall it was like $15 bucks for 24 hour subscription that was only valid for 1 VIN number.

It was a real pain in the ar$e. very user unfriendly site that only worked in Internet Explorer. I think it was mainly for dealers and Ford shops.
