Had NY State inspection on my 2006 V10. The mechanic said it failed 1st time and he had to let it idle for 45 minutes before it finally passed. I only have 11000 miles on it and it is under Ford guarantee. The MH seems to be running ok and I'm getting 6.8 mpg.Is this anything to be concerned about?

Was the batt. disconnected before you took it in. If the computer looses power it takes a while for the computer to run all it's tests before it will pass a smog test.
Did he say why it failed the first time? Did it throw a code??
Do they run a test on the exhaust?? Could be the Cat. converter was not up to temp. before they tested.
If it didn't throw a code I wouldn't worry about it.

Sounds as if they tested it cold the first time. My experience with prior cars/motorhomes is that the engine MUST be hot for the test to work well. This gets the cat converter up to temp prior to testing. This was in Calif which has been doing testing for a number of years and has been tougher than lots of other states.
