Question 2011 v-10 to a 2011 6.7.

Any thoughts on changing out a v-10 2011 with a 2011 6.7 diesel to be come a Diesel puller

That's a serious question for your first post.

And, you know what they say in Hot Rods..."Anything is possible with a big enough wallet"

Yes, a Ford Diesel could be swapped in place of a Triton V10. You would need the entire wire harness plus the engine and transmisson, so a donor truck would make it much easier.

If you are talking about doing this in a F Series, it would just be a lot of swapping parts.

If you are talking about a V10 F53 Class A chassis, then it would be swapping and modifying everthing due to the different layout.

And finally, if you live in a state with SMOG laws, it might not even be able to be licensed once finished.

If you do it, I hope you take lots of pictures...and share all about it. I am sure many people would like to have a 6.7L Ford FRED (FRont Engine Diesel) too...Ford just doesn't offer it.

Best luck

An incredible amount of work and programming for everything to work but it would be a pretty cool project.

It might be cheaper to call Ford and see if they offer a chassis with the diesel then see if you can get the RV manufacture to build an RV on it for you.

Last time this was discussed it was brought out that the gas tank would also have to be modifed and a diesel specific pump installed also.

Replacing a 640 lb V10 with a 1,100 lb 6.7 liter diesel would require an upgrade to the front axle and suspension too and would lower your cargo capacity by 500 or so lbs just for the engine alone and by possible 1,000 lbs or more counting the other modifications required to make it work. Can you live with reducing carrying capacity by 1,000 lbs or more to compensate for the much heavier engine?

Our 13 V10 F53 has 5.38 gears. They would not play very well with the diesel as it likes to operate at much lower rpms. Ford should offer the diesel as a option. That being said I don't think it would be worth the time, money or aggravation to do a swap.
