2014 Ford F53 Transmission
We own a 2015 Fleetwood Southwind. When Purchased in April 2016 it had 5000 miles on it by July 2019 it had 17k miles on it when the transmission went
out of it. Trouble code PO766 Solenoid D. Ford Had the Dealer in Albany NY rebuild the transmission. Fast forward to September 2021 6332 miles later and the motorhome again sits in a Ford Dealership (Youngstown OH) with PO 766 and supposedly Fwd Clutch #11 installed upside down, #6 Center Support Thrust washer missing, #10 Thrust washer in the wrong location. Waiting to hear from Ford Fleet for hopefully some financial assistance ( rebuild came with a 12/12 warranty) Any one out their had problems with the transmission. One would presume that there has GOT TO BE something else causing this thing to eat transmissions. HELP:

In my opinion.. I would add another trans oil cooler.. on return line to trans and one that is tube and fin with its own fan.. I would start monitoring trans temps.. scan gauge or dedicated gauge.. good luck and let us know what you did and maybe better members then me will help you

You had 1 transmission failure, it happens.
This time its a bad rebuild, not the fault of the transmission.

Agreed. I'd get everything documented as to the incorrect assembly of the trans components and present the bill to the first Ford house that did the damage.

Thanks for the reply's. Have already contacted first dealer that did rebuild, was pretty much told that 12/12 warranty is all I had cause it was originally done under power train, out of their hands!! Am dealing with Ford Fleet right now waiting to hear from them hopefully today. IF they decide to contribute financially I guess we do what they want. Already have an estimate of $4700.00 diagnos, parts, labor to rebuild. Which if I pay for comes with a 2 year warranty, if Ford pays for 12/12 again. Am waiting for a quote on a Ford Reman trans which if I pay for comes with a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty, if Ford pays for 12/12. What a joke

If the transmission is missing parts as you claim and FORD did the rebuild then one would expect them to do the right thing.
We all know dealer ships very rarely do the right thing with warranty work.
I would ask if they sell NEW not rebuilt Transmissions.
If they can not get you a NEW Trans then start looking else where.
I would get a bullet proof Rebuilt Transmission from a quality company with locations all over the U.S.
I purchase transmissions from a company that provides 3 YEAR and 100,000 mile warranties and has locations all over.
Good Luck and let us know what happens

Update: Thanks for all the advise, suppose to be hearing from Ford Fleet Customer Service today or tomorrow. Trying to be patient, not easy..... They have priced out having the dealership rebuild (2 year U/L mileage warranty if I pay 12/12 if Ford Pays), or priced out a reman (3 yr U/L Mileage warranty if I pay for 12/12 if ford pays) my biggest ? are based on research the dealer where the rv is right now is saying Reman trans is $1400+ over MSRP (can buy for 400.00 less than MSRP elsewhere) more than the Ford Parts.com website says and $1600 more than Jasper. There labor quote on the replacement seems excessive also based on their labor rate 17 hrs?? They will however install a transmission that I supply (17 hrs worth of time including whats already done, putting old trans back together for core)
Will keep you posted

Always REPLACE the transmission oil cooler and flush or replace the lines to the cooler.
Hope Ford does right by you.

Update
Thanks for all the reply's. Just wanted to update all, we picked the RV up from Allstate Ford of Youngstown and drove it back to NY and the Motorhome has NEVER shifted better!!! So smooth and quiet it is a pleasure to drive. Will " roadtest" for another 1300 miles heading to FL in a couple of weeks. DePaula Ford ( first dealer to rebuild the trans in 2019) worked excellently with Allstate Ford and pd for the second rebuild in full. No out of pocket expense for us at ALL. Thanks for everyone's insight.

That's great to hear you actually found a dealer willing to step up.
